Good News for Students: who are looking for Scholarship! The DOH Department of Health has announced the Pre-Service Scholarship Program for Priority Allied Health Courses in Medical Technology, Pharmacy, and Diploma in Midwifery for the year 2023.

The Department of Health Pre-Service Scholarship 2023 for:
1. Medical Technology,
2. Pharmacy, and
3. Diploma in Midwifery.
is now open to all eligible and interested Filipinos. The Goal of DOH Pre-Service Scholarship program is to provide accessibility to quality health care services by the poor, marginalized and helpless areas of the Philippines.

What are the Scholarship Benefits for a Diploma in Midwifery:

The annual allowance of ₱235,200, Will be given to the Students who are pursuing the Diploma in Midwifery.

  • Tuition Fees – ₱50,000
  • Book Allowances – ₱20,000
  • For Uniform – ₱6,000
  • Miscellaneous Expenses – ₱14,000
  • Living expenses – ₱67,200
  • For Board and Lodging – ₱60,000
  • Transportation expenses – ₱18,000
  • Return Service: The Scholars are required to perform one (1) year of return service in DOH identified priority areas for each year of scholarship received.

What are the Scholarship Benefits for Medical Technology & Pharmacy:

The Total of annual allowance of ₱267,200 will be given for Students who are Pursuing Medical Technology & Pharmacy.

  • Tuition Fees – ₱80,000
  • Book Allowances – ₱22,000
  • For Uniform – ₱6,000
  • Miscellaneous Expenses – ₱14,000
  • Living expenses – ₱67,200
  • For Board and Lodging – ₱60,000
  • Transportation expenses – ₱18,000
  • Return Service: The Scholars are required to perform one (1) year of return service in DOH identified priority areas for each year of scholarship received.

What are the Qualifications:

According to the DOH, all interested applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  1. You must be a Filipino citizen.
  2. Students of moral character
  3. Secondary school graduate (high school or senior high school whichever is applicable)
  4. Preference shall be given applicants from:
    • Low income families
    • Geographically isolated disadvantaged municipalities/ provinces or from top 20 poorest provinces/municipalities/cities
    • Indigenous communities/minority sects
    • Children/dependents of government employees, victims of calamity/tragedy, police/military injured/fatally wounded while on duty, Barangay Health Workers/traditional birth attendants/with chronic diseases

Application Process

The DOH Pre-Service Scholarship 2023 application process is divided into two stages, which are as follows:

Initial Screening

  • Students must apply directly to their preferred DOH Partner School and must meet the minimum qualifications / criteria as discussed above.
  • Only those admitted to the partner schools are eligible to apply for the DOH Scholarship.

Final Screening

  • Evaluation, Validation and Approval of accepted applicants by the concerned CHD based on set criteria.
  • Successful Scholars will be notified by the Scholarship Coordinators of the Partner Schools.

Application Period

  • DOH Pre-Service Scholarship 2023 is open to apply.
